As a valued member of our OT Concept family, I appreciate the trust you place in us when you have pain, injury or weakness.
As you all know, the Coronavirus is spreading around the world. There is widespread fear and panic happening everywhere. People are stockpiling supplies, changing plans they have made, and even opting to stay home for undetermined length of time to the extent of cancelling medical appointments. That’s why I want to personally update you on the situation with the Coronavirus and the steps we are taking to ensure your health and safety when you are coming in for your treatment.
Although I understand some people’s decision, in my opinion, this is not sustainable long term. How long can we not continue to live our lives because of fear? I believe the better solution is to be vigilant but not over reactive. Practice good hygiene and infection control techniques and focus on keeping our bodies healthy. I have been focusing on getting myself healthier the past several months.
How We Prevent The Spread of the Coronavirus
In our part, we are doing everything we can to protect our patients and staff from the spread of the coronavirus. I would like to share some of the things that we do. Take note that these are things that we have been doing since day 1 as part of being a responsible medical clinic.
- We disinfect our equipment regularly
- We have soap and hand sanitizers always available in the clinic
- If we have patients who are sick, we do not let them come in for their appointments
We understand that coming in for your treatment is fundamental to your recovery from surgery, pain or injury, which is why it can’t – and shouldn’t – simply stop. I believe that our mission of ending chronic pain, restoring hope and guiding people to a higher level of health through the most caring experts and environment is never more important than at times like this.
I would like to remind everyone that not all people who cough or is sick have coronavirus. There are lots of other illnesses out there. I am going to mention a few that are commonly confused with coronavirus and the similarities and differences between them.
- shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- symptoms appear 2-14 days after exposure
- muscle aches
- fatigue & weakness
- chills & sweats
- sore throat
- itchy nose
- eyes or roof of the mouth
- stuffy nose
- watery, red or swollen eyes
How You Can Protect Yourself
There are lots of ways that you can find online to protect yourself from the virus. The following are the best protection you can do to minimize the chance of getting the virus:
- Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or longer
- Don’t touch your face if you have not washed your hands
- Keep your body as healthy as possible so it can fight off infections better
Thank you for your continued trust in OT Concept. It doesn’t matter what happens, rest assured that we will always be here for you. I wish you the best of health.
