These are the 5 Important Home Exercises that I use with my patients. Depending on what stage you are and what your symptoms are, you can follow the appropriate exercises in the video.
Precautions
Make sure to consult your surgeon or doctor about the precautions and restrictions you have to observe if you are post-surgery and for how long you have to observe those precautions.
1. Ice Pack vs Hot Pack
When should you use ice packs and when should you use hot packs?
2. Nerve Gliding
Can be used for people who have symptoms of numbness, tingling, pins and needles such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
3. Beginner’s Level
Start with this when you are just starting occupational therapy.
4. Intermediate Level
After about 2 weeks of starting your program, you can progress to the Intermediate Level.
5. Advance Level
After about 2 weeks of doing the Intermediate Level exercises, you will be ready for some functional exercises.
Congratulations! After the Advance Level, you should be able to go back to doing activities that you used to be able to do before such as your Activities of Daily Living. Make sure to consult your surgeon regarding when they will allow you to not observe the precautions anymore.
